ACTION ALERT: On Wed. January 23, 9 AM - 9 PM there will be a hearing in Madison about the "new" mining bill. This bill is as awful as the old one according to Conservation Voters. PLEASE COME to the hearing if at all possible to testify against it. If you can't make it, please do two things: Tell as many other people of this as you can, and ask them to either come to the hearing, or send an email to BOTH Sen Lehman AND Sen Tiffany registering your vote against it. Lehmen will make sure it gets into the record, but Tiffany is the official one receiving the information for the committee.
Please...if you care about the State at all, please take the time to send the email. A mine in the Penokee HIlls would be disaster for the entire region. It would not bring jobs of any sizable proportion and instead do severe damage to the watershed from which the entire area draws our water. It will economically ruin us.
In order to stop this, we need every single person to participate. Please, write an email saying NO to the "new" mining bill.
